A disasterous fire swei)t the business district of Snow Hill and did Over $30,000 damage. Owing to the lack of c^uipmeiiits for fighting fire the citissens were un able to distinguish the flames. The fire originated in the store of a Jewish Dry Goods Merchant. A twelve year old boy whose body was shrunk by ill nourish ment almost to the outline of his skeleton was found one day last week in the colk barren attic of an old shack on the Ramapo Mountains near Hackensack, Michigan. Five of his toes were gone from the elTects of freezing. The child was carried to a hospi tal where amputation of both legs will probably be necessary. Pretty little Dora Davis, a brown haired hazel eyed child of thirteen years of age dropped out of sight one evening la=t week in New York when she was supposed to be returning home from school. Ky. —Mrs. Mary Freeman, of this place, says: “Before I commenced to take Cardid, I suffered so much from womanly trouble, I was so weak that I was down on my back nearly all the;, time. Cardui has done me more good than any medicine I ever took in my life.'’ You n^d not be afraid to take Cardui. It is no new experiment. Compc^d of gentle-acting, herb ingredients, it has been found to safely relieve headache, backache and similar female troubles. Try it for your troubles. With a roar that was heard for 50 miles, a glare that was swn fully as far and with a concussion that broke windows more than 1# niiles away, three carloads of dynamite exploded at the DuPont De Nemours company shortly af ter 8 o'clock Thursday night in the village of Pleasant Prarie, six miles west of Kenosha, Wis. It will be impossible to tell ac curately the number of dead. Nearly every house in the vil lage, which contains 700 resi dents, has been badly damaged and somi of them utterly de molished. Reports from the country ten miles distant are to the effect that houses even that far from the ex- pl(wion were thrown down. It is believed inevitable that many people have been killed or injured throughout the surround ing country. So far as is known at present however, butoi^eman. S. S. Thompson, foreman of the glaze mill, was killed outright but Charles Brady, superinten dent and Joseph Flint the en gineer, are badly injured and may die. The cause of the explosion is not known at the present time. The plant which covered 190 acres of ground, has been com pletely wrecked, only one build ing remaining. This is one of the magazines and it is also filled with dynamite. The first explosion took one of the magazine buildings and in quick succession four others fol lowed, the explosions following so quickly, however, that it seem ed to be but one. The forc^ of the concussion was terrific. Houses, bams and outbuildings in the immediate neighborhood were swept from their foundations as though struck by a tornado. It had been reported that hundreds of cattle and horses had been killed, a tele phone report from there stating that some of them were hurled entirely through barns and resi dences. ' It is reiwrted that the town of Bristol, Wis., ten miles di*»tant was badly wrecked, but details were not obtamable from there at midnight. Special trains wese hastily dis patched from Kenosha carrying every available nurse and physi cian. Several of the injured have been received in this city. But none of them have sustained more than minor injuries. We ofler One Hundred Reward for Rcy 6A66 ol Catftrrh that t&nnotJbs cured by Hall’ti Cat^ir b Cure. r. J. CBENEY A CO., Toi>i6»o, O.
