After a brief session of the old Board of Aldermen Thursday night in which they wound up and: tied a knot to their end of the ball of the city affairs, the new Mayor and Board were ushered to the front and the oath of of fice administered to them by Mr. A. F. Barrett, who knows how to do the business. In turning over the books and reins of gov ernment to the new Mayor, May or Love expressed his thanks to the foi-mer Board who had seen proper to elect him to this office to fill the unexpired term of Mr. A. F. Barrett, who resigned. Mr. Love said that he, as all other of ficers Avould, had made mistakes but he assured the people all un intentionally. It is remembered twelve months ago the Board was divided Mr. Freeland the present Mayor being an applicant for the position of Mayor, and up on failing to land the job, pre sented Mr., Love, on the night he took the oath of office a lemon. The lemon had been kept by Mr. Love arid was returned to Mr. Freeland, although swivelled as stated by Mr, Love, it still con tained the essence of the lemon. The Board which is composed of Mr. W. P. Boo^t Mistake t!ie Ca^ise of Your Troubles. Many pjeoftle never suspect their kidneys. If suffering from a lame, weak or aching back they think that it is only a muscular weakness; when urinary trouble sets in they think it will soon cor rect itself. And so it is with all tSie other symptoms of kidney disoi^ers. That is just where the danger lies. You must cure these troubles or they may lead to dropsy or Bright’s disease. The best remedy to use is Do;an’s Kidney Pills. It is for all ills which are caused by weak or dis eased kidneys. Residents of this vicinity are con3tantly testifying to permanent cure?. T. C. Bradshaw, Mill St., Graham N. C., says: “I cannot say too much in praise of Doan's Kidney Pills and I strongly urge anyone suffering from kidney trouble to at least give this remedy a fair trial. I had a pain in my back for nearly two years and nothing was of permanent benefit until Doan’s Kidney Pills were tried. They helped me from the first and before long I was completely rid of backacheo My cure has proven permanent.” For sale by all dealers. Price 50 cents, Foster-Mil burn Co., Buffalo, New York, sole agents for the United States. Remember the name—Doan, s —and take no other. A Barglar’s Awful Deed may not paralyze a home so com pletely as a mother’s long illness. But Dr. King’s New Life Pills are a splendid remedy ’ for Wo men. They gave me wonder ful benefit in constipation and fe male trctubie,” wrote Mrs. M. C. Dunlap, of Leadill, Tenn. If ail ing, try them. 25c at Freeman Drug Co. Orange County Man Dies. Mr. James A.
