Mr. Walter Story who has been at Roanoke with the Virginia Steele Bridge Works for the past week or ten days has returned home. Death of an infant. Mildrew Capps, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, H. J. Capps died hi the home of her parents on Lakeside Avenue last Saturday night, aged 2 months and 28 days and was buried in Pine Hill Cemetery on Sunday evening at 9 o’clock. The funeral was conducted by Revs. J. D. Andrew and D. Mc- Iver, This is the fourth child buried by Mr. and Mrs. Capps. Our town was shocked Friday evening when the sad news spread of the death of Mrs. Chas. A. Walker at their beautiful home on Broad Street Mrs. Walker was ill but a few days before her death which was the result of blood poison caused by a carbuncle which appeared on her chin. Mrs. Walker was 25 years of age and prior to her marriage five years ago was Miss Irma Dameron. She leaves an affectionate hus band and three year old son, par ents, one brother an'd five sisters. Funeral services were conducted at the home Sunday evening at four o’clock by Rev. P. H. Flem ing assisted by Rev, J. A. Horna- day, from where the remains were interred in Pine Hill Ceme tery. Her love and admiration was attested by. the unusually large number of tieautif ul floral designs which were carried by members of the Young Mens Bible Class of the Christian Church of which Mr. Walker is teacher. One of the prettiest floral de signs which was a standing de sign was presented by the Red Men. The pall bearers were: Dr. W. D. Moser, Nessrs. Clar- ance Freeman, W. H. May, Fletcher Williams, Jas. Mrs. Allie Collins, wife of the late Robert Collins, died Sunday June 4, at the home of her daugh ter, Mrs. D. N. Mixon at Graham The funeral was conducted by Rev. G. L. Curry of the M, P. Church and buried at the Graham Cemetery Monday afternoon. She was sixty-four yeara old, and leaves two sons and four daughters: Messrs. G. L. Bay- liff, of Greensboro, J. A. Bayliff, of Graham, and Mrs. Joe Fulton, of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Will Webster, of Hillsboro, Mrs. D. N. Mixon, of Graham, and Mrs. C. R. Way of this city, Mrs. Collins was a good Chris* tian woman having b^n a mem ber of the Friends Church at Cane Creek for over 35 years. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved relatives and friend- s of the deceased. Childrens Exercise. A beautiful exercise was ren dered by the children of the Front Street Methodist Church Sunday night under the direction of Mes- dames A. D, Pate and A. L. Davis and Miss Nettie Dailey. The children looked pretty and I rendered their recitations in a I delightful manner a pantomine '•in which bouquets of flowers 'were used was highly compli mented. The entire program was rendered in a manner which is due credit to the ladies who had it in charge and especially to the little tots. Just Look Here Youisg Ladies!
