Tom Crumpton of Ossipee who was shot sometime ago died Thursday at the St. Leo Hospital at Greensboro and the jremaiBs were brought to Bethlehem for burial. He leaves a wife andi one child to mourn the loss. Rev. Robert Troxlers of near Ossipee and Miss Myrtle Squires of Union Ridge sujiprised theiar many friends by getting Miarried Wednesday. On the evening of the 25th of Nov. the JunioFS presented t& the Altamahaw Graded School a new flag and Bible. Dir. Mclver, of Greensboro,, made m interesting talk„ and Prof. J. B. Robertson, our County Supt.,. al so made a very helpful talk. The Bible was presents by Mr. W. S. Bennett and the by Mr. W. M. Taylor. A large crowd of Juniors were present and some of them made very helpful remarks. We are not able to express oiar appreciation of the flag and Bi ble but we hope that they may prove to be of much benefit to both, teachers and pupils. The hew school building is now being painted and is very mice, indeed. The teachera in charge are Prof. W, H. Dawson and Misses Roalla and Floy Pegg.We are expecting to have an excell ent school. She has been dead for 14 years,^ but the peach es are still good. Several jars of them were eaten a few days ago and now only one jar is left. Mr. Bryant says that he does not intend for this jar to be open-^ ed until after his death. It is really quite interesting to know j that jars of peaches can be pre served this long.
