WHY A WILL?
An Educational Advertisement by the Alamance
Loan '& Trust Company.
People often ask the question:
“Why shonid I make a will ? . . , j.
‘ ‘Do not the courts give ample protection in the distribu
tion of one's property at his death ?”
Here is an answer which covers just , one small portion
of the provisions made by the laws of North Carolina in
in such matters:
When one dies without leaving a will the laws’ of North
Carolina give a husband no interest whatever in ^1^® ^®3.1
estate of his wi;e unless a child v/as born to them; on the
other hand, in such cases, the wife gets only one-third f: r .
her life time of the real estatvi of the husband ar.d only
one-half of his personal property. ^
This is the law andfeinless a will has been executed the
distribution made in such cases will be as above stated.
We will be glad to make clear any other point on the sub
ject.
When this company is appointed as Executor, we alllow
you to select any lawyer you wish and we pay all the ex
penses and also allow you to store the will under seal in
our vaults for safe keeping, free of charge.
Come in and talk it over with us today.
