In the national Prohibition par ty in session at Atlantic City the country has the real third party. This party has undeviatingly held aloft the banner of the pro hibition of the liquor traffic in all its branches for many years and its results have been seen in hard-fought state campaigns. Therefore, this party is not dis posed to see another party come into the field with different ob jects and usurp the title of third party and a party of prog ress. The national Prohibition party is composed of men whose sin- cerety and whose devotion’ to the ends of humanity as they see them may not be controverted. The definite and clear-eut st,and of the Prohibitionists markes it possible to see exactly where they line up. They make no cojcnpro- inise and res/rt to no round-about methods. They simply say they want the abolition of the liquor traffic and mean to get it. Nor will it do to discourage them be cause of their failure to achieve much ih the national field. The growth of sentiment for the cause may be credited quitely large tp its continued advocacy by this party. Therefore, as th,e third party that has long held that claim, the Prohibitionists in their con vention will receive the respect ful attenion 6f all whose view of the national field is hospitable to all factors that enter into the good of society.
