Sunday School every Sunday morning at 10 a. m. ^ ^ John F. Idol, Supt. Everybody Welcome. Hamilton, Bermuda Nov, 28.— Wocdrow Wilson has written a letter to William J. Bryan invit ing him to a conference ^ter Mr. Wilon’s return from Ber~ muda. The President-elect wishes to consult with Mr. Bryan as one of the leaders of the Democratic party but will take counsel with a number of the other Democratic leaders so regarding his future program. It is definitely announced, how ever, as Mr. Bryan isnotcominpr to Bermuda, and that he has not been invited to do so. After the Thanksgiving dinner to-day Mr. and Mrs. Wison went driving and in the evening atten ded an amateur performance of ’’Our mutual friend.'' Being president»elect of the United States and being merely Wo^row Wilson, an Amencan in search of rest on a British island, do not differ in the slightest degree. Governor Wil son was recalling today his pre vious vacations in the Bermudas when as President of Princeton University he sought r^t and quiet here. "It’s not a bit different.” he said. “Every thing is the same as before. Many .more people have called, to be sure, but I am having I'ast the kind of vacation I wanted, with plenty of rest and exercise.” Mr. Wilson did not have his family here on his previous visits and he was not so prominent a personage, but the p^ple of Bermuda look him at his word when he sad he came for rest, pure and simple, and they have not bothered him in the least. In fact the social diversibp have been just enough to prevent his stay here from becoming monot onous. The Wilsons knew some of the people here from previous acquaintance in the United States and the Wilson girls find it ^ easy to enjoy themselves as if they were at home. For the most part they have been going about with their father who is fond of bicycling and walking. The President elect varies his vacation pleasu res with the days as they come. Often he slee^ a long time and takes an additional nap. His correspondence is negjible in amount. His secretaries at home were instructed to send mail of only the most urgent character, and to date tbey haven’t sent a single letter. ’’Excellent discretion,” was the Governor’s smiling comment when he told about it. . The Governor says he feels greatiy improved in health and as distant from the political whirl of the campaign as if it closed three years ago instead of three weeks ago. Bermuda has brought back the domestic side of life to tlie Governor and the best proof 01 its enjoyinent is in a glimpse of the cozy parlors of the Wilson homjs where each night in an at mosphere of books and compan ionship the family group may be seen. The absence of newspapers makes the island a particular delight for the Gorvernor. He admits that when he was thinking of a place from which to escape things political he thought immediatly of Ber- rnuda, not only because poli ticians, after being sincerely warned would keep their distance but because even the daily news papers does not invade the quaint stillness of the little archipelago. The local papers are tri-weeklies and contain meager cable dis patches, usually very little about the United States. The Governor did not know until Tuesday, for instance, the result of the Yale-Harvard foot ball game. _As he is pleased with the ai^ence of information, though, when the steamer did bring the newspapeni he scanned them. One thing he read which plea^ him was presidents Tafts toast to him at the Lotus Club dinner in New York. The President in xaising his glass to his success or, had characterized him as ”an able, distinguished and patriot gentleman.” "That’s fine remarked Mr. Wilsoii , heartily^ and his family who stood a^u| at the - moment showed their appreciation. It appears quite likely that befort ne inaugura tion the Pre^dent-elect and the President will meet in Washing ton. Governor Wilson will be passing through the capitol on his way to and from the jubilee celebration at his birthplace, Staunton, Va.,December If he does not stop at Washington on that occasion he will doubtless be there in Feburarv when he may attend the dinner given ^ by the Gridiron Club at which Pres ident Taft is expected to be present.
