Reception in Society Halls
I Music furnished by the Whitsett Orchestra, a.nd the VYhitse-tt
Conret Band
Beside the sixty voices constituting the Burlington Choral
UnioKv the quartet is composed of Messrs Dring and Clapp and
Mrs, Wade Brown and Miss Severson, all of Greensboro. These
are, trained sirtgers'and have the reputation of being among the
best la the state. Myny will be interested to know of Mrs. Brown's
appeara. ice here again, she being k .iov^n to our people.
The Choral Union was organized five years ago under the leader
ship of iVir. Brown for the first two years. The third year dur
ing Mr, Srown'a absence in the old country the services of Mr.
Hill v\rere secured. The fallowing year, the union took a vacation
hut began work again last fall with renewed interest.
The society means much to our town and county and especially
are onr Ghoreb choirs helped greatly, which in fself should reconn-
mend ifc highly to our people.
The society has the moral and enthusiastic support of the majo
rity of our people and has enjoyed a reasonable financial support.
It is therefore on a good basis but could be placed on a stronger
basis by a nv>re united effort to get all those interests, and allare
to attend this annual concert. L^t us fill our Graded School audi
torium od the evening of the coneertand enjoy an evening of music.
The price will be small and especially so when the six months
of hard work for this concert is considered. ,
