Jones and Charles Deaton captured and destroyed a large illicit distillery. A 75-gallon copper still and worm 12 large fermenters containing 200 gallons of beer, 18 bushels of meals, one doubler, one flake stand, jugs, mash sticks and other fixtures were confiscated. When the officers destroyed the still the owners were not any where to be seen. They stayed at the place for six hours after destroying the still in the hopes that the owners would show up, but had tb leave without getting a clew as to the owners. The guide who found the still walked 16 miles to notify the ofFiers. Hope they will have a nice time. Graham and Saxapahaw play ed ball Saturday. The score was 4 to 2 in favor of Saxapahaw. We are in sympathy with the Graham boys. Cheer up boys and come again.
