London, July 17. —Rumanian troops are at Plevna and Mesed* ra» the latter town within 30 miles of Sopia, and King Ferd inand of Bulgaria is suppliant to the king of Rumania for terms of peace. It is understood that the pow ers are striving to induce Rum ania not to occupy Sofia and are urging Bulgaria to appoint a del egate to confer with the Servian and Greek premiers. The real facts of the situation are only just becoming generally known in Sofia and are causing j dismay among the people, M. | Malinoff’s efforts to form a cabinet appear to have failed. Fighting of no great impor tance continues on the Greek and Servian frcHits. The Sofia correspondent of the Times commenting on the desperate situation in Bulgaria, says: “Despite 35 years of astonish ing progress, surrounded by jealous enemies, her position always has been more critical than her statement have been willing to admit, and the fatal mistakes of believing that Rus sia would protect her against the consequence of misadven ture now is manifest.’’ vs. A Yes you can no longer aflEprd to be without one of these matchl-« Why not pnnect up with the city or anywhers you want to go?
