The business men have united in giving valuable prizes to be given away each week and
Three Grand Prizes
Will be given away at the end of the season in March. The grand prizes will be given away as
follows: •
1st. For the highest average price received during the season. 2nd. For the largest load sold during
the season.. 3rd. The farmers selling their entire crop on Burlington market. Prizes for first week
ending Oct. 4th. /
HIGHEST PRICE. One oak bed, given by J. A. Isley and Bro., one bunch of bananas given by Mer
chants Supply Co
HIGHEST AVERAGE. One pair pants given by B. Goodman, one bunch of bananas given by the
Merchants Supply Co.
LARGEST LOAD. Dne half ton of Farm Bell Guano, given by H. W. Trollinger, one bunch of bananas
given by Merchants Supply Co.

CONDITIONS OF CONTEST
Tobacco must be raised by farmer competing. No lot under 50 pounds will be considered. In the
highest average contest the entire barn or curing including each grade must be sold. Each ware house
man will report to a special committee at the close of business each week the highest price paid, the highest
average and the largest load sold on his floor. The farmers winning the prizes will be notified by the
secretary of the committee and the names will be published in the county papers.
NOTICE. Should any faimer competing for the prizes sell at more than one warehouse durmg the
week during which he competes he should so notify each ware houseman in order that he be given credit
for same in report.
