' A peculiar feature of tonight’s crowd was that it was made up largely of out-of-town people, hundreds arriving: .an hour and m.ore beforie Sunday was st^hedu- led to preach, via trains, trolley ears and motor buses. The big- est delegation comprised 1000 bu.«iness women of Fassaij, while from the sanie town came 200 Odd Fellows, the first frat ernal organization to attend any 61 the services in a body. Not only tonight, but all day, Billy seemed in better spirit than at any time since Ma Sunday \yent back to Winona Lake to see if the Sunday kids. Bill, Jr., and Paul, are getting along all right. “3Iy warfare is for your hap piness, that's all," ‘he cried once. "So 1 don’t wonder that I’m be ing slandered and villified by the devil and his emissaries, the liquor gang and subsidized news papers. But God is with me, and ril fight the whole bunch to a linish.' They can’t frii^ten me with their blatant opposition.” “Be sure your .sins will find you out,” was the counsel Billy wished he could blazen in the .“ikies, and along the railroads in stead of tobacco advertisements, and the damatic ray in which he shouted the prase from time to time made many of his hearers squirm in their seats. This afternoon about 3000 persons heard the evangelist preach on “Personal Work,” v'.^ich was one long mandate for professing Christians to get busy at the meetings and help the sernidiis bear fruit. He worked hard at it, too, but when he finished he decided not to call for trail-bitters. Billy collections were good to day, The total was ?1,240.I I, sending the grand sum up to Onc.t more, this morning, in home of peter Quackenbush. millionaire merchant, Billy gave one of his talks to 150 members of , Patterson's 400, as the local paper refers to the town’s soci ety. His subject was “The Plan of the Ages,” and once in his context he took a slam at Pas tor Russell and those who follow ‘his teaching. There was no trait-hitting, but hII hands had a shake of his before he left. A petition signed by most of the inmates of the county prison came to Billy today, asking him ful in the selection of iiats if she couki hot get on-: until it had come to her and begged her to take it.—Florida Timeti-Uni- on. i "church directory 1 REFORMED CHURCH, Corner Front and Anderson Streets.
