Hovis; box 2, E. W. Berryhill. DEATH OF MR. REYNOLDS. Young Man Died at the Home of His Uncle in Villa Heights. Mr. Shelton Thomas Reynolds, a i ative of Richmond county, died yes terday evening at 8 o'clock at the nome of his uncle in Villa Heights -vhere he had been visiting several weeks. The young man had recently jeturned from South Carolina where re remained for several weeks at The bedside of a brother who had ty 1'hoid fever. He came to Charlotte itnd shortly after arriving here de veloped! fever, dying at the hour stated above. The remains were taken to his former home in Rich mond count'. The deceased was about 20 years old and is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David 'Reynolds and three brothers. BODY TAKEN TO ANSON. Mr. Paul Lowry Died at Belmont Saturday Night. The body of Mr. Paul Lowry, whose death occurred at 9 o'clock Saturday iight at his home on Pegram street m Belmont, was- taken this morning 10 his former home at Marsh ville, in Anson county, where the funeral will be conducted today: Mr. Lowry had been in declining health for more than a year though 2iis condition was not thought to be alarming and his death Saturday night was not expected. The de ceased was about 27 years old ana is survived by a widow. Mr. Lowry was1 a painter by trade. He had been a resident of Belmont Feveral years and was highly es teemed by a large number of f'iends living in that community. Wins Scholarship. Miss Kathleen Barnhill, of this tity, has received the scholarship en dowed by the board of managers of the Alexander Rescue Home in mem ory of Mrs. P. M. Brown and Mrs. Dunn. She ' left this morning for the North where she goes to take a four-year's course in one of. the lead ing schools of that section. Miss Barnhill .is a worthy young lady and her friends will be glad to learn of the honor which she has won for lerself. " " Orchestra Leader Arrives. Mr. N. B. Yunker, of Louisville, Ky., leader of the Academy; of Music orchestra arrived in the city today tnd will get the orchestra in shape iM- the coming season. Protracted Services. There will be preaching each night this week at 8 o'clock at the First As sociate Reformed Presbyterian church. The Pastor Rev. Wm. Duncan will be assisted in the services, and the public is cordially invited to attend. Social at Seversville. A social will be given on the lawn of Mr. H. D. Duckworth's residence in Seversville by the ladies of the Severs ville Methodist church tomorrow night. The public is cordially invited to at tend. Mrs. Wr. C. Dowd and children re turned home this morning from Cleve land Springs where they have been spending the past ten days. Mr. Dowd went up Saturday evening and return fed home with them. Messrs. .G. V. Harper and L. M. Ross of Charlotte and S. Rae Logan of Mon tana who has been visiting in the citj. left this morning for Chapel Hill where they re-enter the University.
