Rome, Feb. 15.—The pope is ill

Thi.s morninK his holiness had a
Klight excess of temperature and as
a precautionary measure audiences
were suspended and he was persuad

It will be of interest to the many
friends of Mr. C. E. Hooper and the
summer visitors at Wrightsville to
know that he has acepted the manage
ment of the Tarrymoore hotel at
Wrightsville for the coming summer.
However, it will no longer be
known as the Tarrymoore, but as the
Oceanic hotel.
The season will open June 1st and
will continue until October. Mr.
George Norman, of the clerical force
the Buford, w'ill be associated with
Mr. Hooper at the Oceanic.
It is Mr. Hooper’s intention to oper
ate the hotel on much larger scale
than has ever before been attempted,
and, as he knows all there is to know
about running a hotel, there is no need
to expect anything else than a very
sucecssful season for the Wrightsville
hostelry. {
Mr. Hooper is also under contract to
manag the Atlantis, a splendid nev ;
hotel that is to be built on the Wrights-!
ville beach, but which will not be in j

Would Adjust
Potash Dispute
By Associated Press.
Berlin, Feb. 15.—It is learned here
that Ambassador Bernstorg is con
ducting negotiations with the statp
department at Washington looking
to the adjustment of the potash
trade dispute on the basis of the
note recently presented to Secretary
Knox bv the German government.
This note set forth the German
attitude, suggesting that the ques
tion of whether the German produc
ers or the American bunyers should
pay the surtax imposed by the re-
centlv enacted mining law might be
a matter for arbitration and that in
the event it was established that the
penalty properly fell upon the
Americans, the export price be mu
tually agreed upon by the two gov-
evrnments.
When one of the leading druggists
in Charlotte tells you that they have
a preparation which they so thorough
ly believe in that they will refund
your money if it does not do all that
is claimed for it, it shows that the
article must have unusual merits. It
is in this way that .Tohn S. Blake Drug
Co. are selling Samose, the remarkable
flesh-building food.
Samose is in reality a concentrated
food, and restores life and vitality at
once to the blood. It mixes with the
ordinary foods and aids digestion; it
extracts from the food that you eat
the flesh-forming and strength giving
elements, building up the tissues and
the general health.
Any one can get a 50 cent bo of this
remarkable flesh-forming food, know
ing that their money will be refunded
if it does not increase weight and re
store the system to health.
