How much have they done-—and y6u know who they are—to really help Charlotte? Precious little. Why don’t they do a little to help the city, rather than always trying to muddy the waters, to feather their own nests, to vent their petty spite and -to satisfy personal grievances? AFTER ALL, FELLOWS, it’s better to look to your own safety, your own peace of mind, your own pocketbook, by carrying just as many shares as you can with Keesler and the Mutual, for that’s a combination that fails not to be there with the goods at the appointed time. There’s naught but worry and disappointment and poverty for the average politician, for many hunt the pie but few eat it. It’s always so with the herd that spends a life hunting for the feather beds.
