Corwith returned yester day from Lenoir, where he was invited by the recently reorganized board of trade of that city to make an address on ‘The Advantages of Municipal Ad vertising.” He went up to Lenoir on Wednesday and made the address before the Lenorians on Wednesday night. Mr. Corwith says he was the recip ient of a very cordial recei)tion and that everything was dono that could be done to make his visit a ])Ieasani one. He enjoyed the trij) immensel.v. He K-ays that he found Lenoir a wide awake and attractive city, situated in a beautiful country, 20 miles from Blowing Rock, and thoroughly alive to capturing its share of the tourist and Permanent population that is com ing to the South so rapidly of late years. 'I he town has made a gain of 160 per cent in population during the last 10 years, the per cent being based on a population of the last census at 3,- 500. This- figure, however, hardly gives correctly an impression of the size I of the place for the reason that a large j ])art of the population is to be found outside of the corporate limits and j surrounding a number of elegant fac- j tories devoted to the making of cotton! goods. An excellent tannery, several large wood working plants are also. outside the city limits. j Mr. Corwith was? im])ressed with the facilities and natural attractions of Le noir as a summer resort and thinks both climate and elevation ideal. ’Phone 1539. The Little Baby’s Life Every Mother, watchful or other wise, knows that Baby Darling’s life is often imepriled by that dread thing called Croup. The Mothers knowing this, they ascertained that Gowan's Preparation would allay the severest case of croup, and if used in time, when the symptoms first a])peared, there would be no croup. “Saving the Baby‘S Life” would make a book if we used the testimonials mothers have written us. But it was not left for us to tell this story. The Mothers of the country have already told those who did not know. We make no boast in claiming that every mother who has used Gowan's Preparation for Croup, Colds, Coughs and Pneumonia will all, without a single exception bear cheer ful testimony to gur claim that it abso lutely cures in all cases where inflam mation is the seat of the disease. All druggists handle this wonderful ex ternal remedy; mothers are not afraid to use it because U is external and no drug habit can i)ossibly follow. Wise is the ^lother who keeps always a bottle of Gowan's Preparation in the home. Three sizes—25c, 50c and $1. It will pay yoti to see use before you give your party.
