WHEN ^ ATTACKED AND DE- NOT’NCED BY THE HAWKINS MAN- .UJEMENT. What excuse do they make now for their attack on the good faith of ]\Iay- or Hawkins and Chairman Watson, the latter of whom they have endorsed for alderman? WHY. THE FLAME IT ON SOME BODY ELSE. They up and say: "Since the facts for the most part have to be obtained from the City records, the public will at once realize the difficulty of an outsider getting the exact figures in every detail.” This effort to put the blame for their inaccurate statements on the city’s efficient and courteous officials, who have rendered every assistance possible, will not he well received by those who know the ?:entlemon now in the offices at the city hall. AVe can’t afford to take either side. Mr. Hawkins buys collars from us, and Dr. Bland gets his socks at Cousin William’s store.” Ye gods and little fishes: A yellow dog deserves rnore respect than such a miserable being as that. If niy old yard dog didn’t have grit enough to take a side in the neighborhood fights. I'd send him to the cre matory. These namby-pamby, milk-and-water, hands-olf fellows are a dis grace to tne community. Say something. If you can’t smile and say. “God bless you. Old Boy,” say ( ) ( ) with your man,” but quit being a negative something, be a man. I'd be ashamed for my neighbors to say "of mo, "fou can't teil how he stands—you can t put your finger on him.” THE MUTUAL BILLY MALONE is not jusL as good as the other fellow’s.
