The market had little selling power in the early trading and acted oversold. Sentiment around the ring was bearish but bears pre ferred to take profits at every oppor tunity rather than to increase their lines of shorts. Weather reports were extremely favorable; the map was wet and cloudy and indicated rain over practically the entire cotton belt while the forecast promised rain for the entire belt. At the end of the first half hour of business prices of the active months were 3 to 4 points under yesterday’s close. Around the middle of the morning leading bulls were heavy buyers and at the same time reports of too much rain in the Mississippi valley, dam age from boll weevil and complaints of shedding made their appearance.
