Weather Conditions.
The low pressure area which will be
noticed on the map over the Gulf of
Mexico, has caused general rains over
the Florida peninsula during the past
24 hours.
Rapidly changing barometric con
ditions over this section yesterday
afternoon resulted in thunderstorms
over the state, but no rain occurred
except at Raleigh.
Extremely hot weather covers the
central and lower Mississippi valley.
On Thursday Kansas City reported
104 degrees as the highest. The aver
age of sixteen and seventeen stations
respectively, in Louisiana and Arkan
sas, was 100 degrees; over Texas, 49
stations averaged 102; and over Okla
homa, 11 stations averaged 104 de-
grees.
Low temperatures prevail In the
northwest, Calgary, in the Dominion
of Canada reports 36 degrees as the
lowest last night. ,
The indications are for a continua
tion of fair weather tonight and Fri
day.
Heavy Rainfall.
Athens, Ga
Remarks.
Scattered showers have occurred
over eastern and central districts of
the belt. The hot wave is pretty gen
eral over all districts being most
marked in Louisiana, Arkan&as, Okla-1
homa and Texas where maximum j
temperatures ranged from 100 to 104 !
degrees.
