Mu Huntet Dies
At Sanatonum
Mr. H. A. Hunter, one of the best
tnwn and meet esteemed citizens of
the county, died yesterday at the
Charlotte Sanatorium after an illneas
of considerable duration. He was 76
y«>arB of age and had spent all his life
In the Huntersville section. He is sur
vived by his widow and five sons, vIe.:

The remains were taken to Hunters
ville this morning at 10:20 o’clock and

o’clock this afternoon. The pastor of
the chunh. Rev. John Gnes, was as-
^.isted in the services by Rev. Dr. J. M.
Grier of Concord, Rev. J. E. Berry hill,
pastor of Paw Creek Presbyterian
Church, and Rev. J. M. Bigham, pastor
of the A R- P- church at Huntersville.

RAPID TRAANSIT COM
PANY RESUMES OPERATIONS.
The car serv'ice of the Rapid Tran
sit Co., had its cars again in operation
yesterday after the suspension of
service for a few days that the track
which was laid along the Lawyers’
road for a little distance might be
moved and run across the road and
directly to the Mecklenburg Country
Club. The car line now runs from Eliza
beth Heights to the Country Club on
a one hour schedule. The new car is
expected today or tomorrow and will
be put on as* soon as it arrives and
the schedule will then work on the half
as well as on the hours. Yesterday on
every trip the car was crowded.

until the present auditorium was com
pleted in May, 1906. Dr. Bomar has
been a conscientious worker in his
congregation giving a great part of his
time to aid the superintendent of the
Sunday school in building up his
school. The total number enrolled on
the books of the school is 250 under
the leadership of Superintendent W.

The ladles of the health department
of the Woman’s Club have found a
pl^e for the exhibit which is to be
used in the fly campaign. The building
Is No. 203 West Trade street, the build
ing formerly u«ed by Brldger’s Grocsery
Company. This exhibit was opened
today and displays the dangers of the
common house fly to the health of the
community. It displays the germ car
rying abfllties and the repulsive ap
pearance of the fly when seen under a
microscope.
This exhibit is the first material step
in the awakening of citizens of Char
lotte to the dangers of this animal or
insert which lives only in the presence
of unsanitary conditions. The flght
has been undertaken by the health de
partment of the Womaji's Club as the
most important step that is to be
taken in the flght for the health of
the city.
This exhibit is free to all and the
people of the city and all visitors to
the city are invited to see the exhibit
and profit by what they see. The e-
hi bit will be kept open Monday, Tues
day, Wednesday and Thursday.
