OUK POLICY l»e believe that it is very important that a college have a newspaper. Any largo group of people needs some method by which to keep themselves acquainted with all the activities of* various organ izations within the group as well as the activities of the group as a whole. There are athletics, plays, elections, etc. It is impossible for one person to keep up with all these events. Therefore it becomes thn duty of the nev;spaper to bring the news to the community that it servos, that is, the Charlotte College students. The college paper has certain func tions and objectives. It must be the me dium through v.'hich imformation may bo brought to all those who are interested in college activities, not only the stu dents, the instructors and the professors, but the alumni, the school board, public- spirited and civic-minded persons in the community, and the parents, husbands, and v;-ives of the students. It is a direct connection between the home and the coll ege. It can influence and promote the co-operation of the students v/ith the faculty. It is the duty of a nev/spaper to create a wholesome school spirit, to sup port the best traditions of the organiza tion which it represents, to encouragc worthy school activities, to promote scho larship, to encourage the ideals of true sportsmanship, and to record the history of tho school. This is the policy of our college paper. If the students w'ork hand in hand with the staff, we will be able to have a good informative publication. Such co-operation v^ill also help to make the now Charlotte College successful in every PAUL'S p/\jTEi^ Page 2 wav This is the thing we all want, so let's start now and achieve our goal.
