Work On
Archives
Mr. Joseph Boykin, assistant to
the librarian, has been recently
authorized by the library to
establish a University Archives.
The Archives will seek to acquire
and preserve all the records
generated by the school which
will have future historical and
legal value.
Among the records will be
complete s,ets of any printed
materials such as the CARO
LINA JOURNAL, Parnassian,
year book, and other student
publications.
Mr. Boykin expressed the
hope that all organizations on
campus will become more
record conscious.
Some interesting articles al
ready in the Archives include
thiC ballot used to vote a tax levy
in support of Charlotte College,
the original deed by which the
Board of Trustees of Charlotte
College transferred the school
property and assets to the
University, and the twenty-three
page mimeographed catalogue of
the Charlotte Center of the
University of North Carolina,
1947-1948, of which only one
known copy still exists.
