The third bill, S, L. 6d-G7-3, is the Piocedure To Be Fol lowed When a Ijcgislator’s Ov erall Averajre Drops Below 2.0 In the past, Lejrislators had fre(iiu*ntly been driven “periods of trrace” when their parades fell below a 2.0 overall in the S|>rine,'. This bill states that *a 1 A'cislator must resijrn his po sition if his overall averajre dro}>s at any time durinjr the year. If this occurs at the end of Spring Semaster, an interim replace ment is appointed by the Pi'esi- dent of the Student Body for the Summer Session. Class elec- t’ons anust l>e held within 10 days after Fall Semester starts to elect permanent replacements for those classes that do not have full representation. The Legislatui'c approved the final budgets, on July 25, proi sented by the Finance Commit tee for the various organizations on ca.mpus which receive Stu dent Activities Fees. A total of $29,990 was distributed among eleven organizations according to their needs for the coming academic year. The Union and the .Annual received the bulk of this sum with $15,000 and $8,- 000 going to each respectively. The Legislature made a pre^ cedence this year by allotting $300 to the Editor of the News paper for a Discretionary Fund. The only other discretionary Fund granted with Activities Fees is to the Presi .it of the Student Body. Smoking i.s permitted in all araes of the Union except the ballroom. Special pennission is j-equired for ballroom .smoking. Food and drink are permitted only in the cafeteria, card play ing aiea, and gameroom. All re.servations for space in the Union mu.st be obtained from the Union Piogram Director, without exception. Students must not tamper with the thermo.stats in the Union. No one will be admitted to the gameroom unless there is an at tendant on duty. Students mu.st comply with rules governing the use of the gameroom and failure to comply with these rules could mean the closing of the game- room for an indefinite period of time.
