Miller of 126 WestBlvd., Char lotte, has 'been commissioned a second lieutenant in the U. S. Air Force upon graduation from Of ficer Training School (OTS) at Lackland AFB, Tex. Lieutenant Miller, selected for OTS through competitive examina tion, is being assigned to an Air Force unit at Washington, D. C., for duty as an electronics en gineer. A graduate of Harry P. Harding High School, the lieutenant re ceived his B.S.E. degree in 1967 from the University of North Caro lina at Charlotte. Toys, stuffed animals, and games were also donated for gifts for the children. Enough books and refreshments (kool-aid, cookies, candy, and cup cakes) were left to enable the twenty-five children who were home sick with the flu to enjoy a party the week after Christmas. For the seventh year, low cost, “group tare” flights to Europe will be available to all students, employees, and staff of the Con solidate University of North Carolina. Graham Memorial Stu dent Union at Chapel Hill will coordinate the arrangements. Eco nomy class jet tickets at group tares result in substantial savings to participatn to participants. To keep costs low, air transportation tickets only are provided — all other arrange ments are the individual’s choice and responsibility. Students and staff ofthis campus as well as Chapel Hill, Greensboro and Raleigh are eligible. Staff and employees must have been em ployed and students enrolled for six months prior to the flight departure date. Children, spouse and parents of an eligible person who reside in the same household may ac company the eligible member, i.e., the person who is eligible must make the trip and all dependents must take the same flight. The dates for flights are as follows: FLIGHT 1, Depart June 5, Return July 10—final payment due Monday May 1, 1968; FLIGHT 2, Depart June 5, Return August 13-final payment due Monday, May 1; FLIGHT 3 (2 sections).
