raries for the use of the Uni
versity of North Carolina at Char
lotte students and faculty members
during the last quarter of 1967.
For the most part, these reels
contained reproductions of nine
teenth century newspapers which
were used by students doing re
search in American history. The
microfilm was borrowed from lib
raries at the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill, Univer
sity of South Carolina, Univer
sity of Virginia, and University
of West Virginia.
During the same period, the
following materials were borrowed
through inter-library loan for Uni
versity of North Carolina at Char
lotte students and faculty members
—seventy-nine books and bound
periodicals, two North Carolina
state documents, and one thesis.
Photocopies of fifty-six periodi
cal articles wee obtained, as
were thirty-four prints reproduced
from microfilm. Five books were
loaned to students at other lib
raries upon request. For the first
time in the history of the Atkins
Library, a volume was loaned to
a faculty member at the Univer
sity of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill.
Books and periodicals not avail
able In the Atkins Library may be
borrowed for University of North
Carolina at Charlotte students and
faculty members upon request of
