The Sting The Residence Hall Association (RHA) will sponsor The Sting Fri day, April 13, and Satur day, April 14, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in McKnight Lec ture Hall. The Front Sanskrit will sponsor The Front April 13 at noon in McKnight Lec ture Hall. Misc Running The UNCC Half-Mara thon with a 10,000 meter race and 2-mile fun run, will begin Saturday, Ap ril 14. from the UNCC parking lot near the gymnasium. Bluegrass Festival The Union Grove Blue grass Festival will begin at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 12 and last Diana Ross comes to By Terri Feimster Diana Ross will ap pear at the Charlotte Co liseum April 17 as part of her first solo tour of the US. The show she will perform has receiv ed rave reviews and bro ken almost every atten dance record at both Los Angeles' Universal Am phitheatre and New York City's Radio City Music Hall. It is especially de signed for the largest halls across the country and includes a 50-piece orchestra, 13 singers and nine dancers, rear screen projections and laser beams. Fashion de signer genius Bob Mack- ie helped Ross create the array of costumes she will wear. Ross is a recipient of Broadway's Tony Award for “An Evening with Diana Ross," a show which played to sellout audiences in New York, Boston, Chicago and Philadelphia. She re ceived an Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of Billie Holliday in 1972's Lady Sings the Blues and can be seen currently in Mo- town's The Wiz. Ross will perform most of her hit songs in the concert, including some from her days with Charlotte the Supremes: “Baby Love," “Stop! In the Name of Love" and “I Hear a Symphony." Mu sical numbers from her movies, Lady Sings the Blues, Mahogany (“Do You Know Where You're Going To") and The Wiz (“Ease Down the Road") also scheduled.
