Page 2 THE CHARLOTTE COLLEGIAN Moy 25, 1956 Published monthly throuKhout the school year by the students of CHARLOTTE COLLEGE, Charlotte, North Carolina. Editor Pat F’aulkner Assistant Editor Gwen Daly Business Manager Johnsie (Jreene Faculty Advisor Miss Mary Denny EDITOR'S NOTE It seems hard to believe that I am editing my last issue of the ColleKian. It seems as thou}?h I have been the editor for this publication as lonp as I can remember and now the job is finally completed. I feel that a little tribute to the people who never pot their names up in headlights for working on the paper w'ould be in accordance with our last edition. First, I would like to thank Miss Mary Denny for the ex cellent advice she gave to the paper. Miss Denny started me off when all I knew' of a paper’s publication w'as that it had words on every page. She got material, made suggestions, and coaxed me along until I was able to coast along by myself. Next, I w'ould like to thank the girl who wrote my Gossip Column. I’m going to tell on Patsy although I promised I never would. Patsy Hartsell was instrumental in cooking up some of the very best in slander this year. All of the articles on sports this year were the work of one Johnny (Wong) Culp. Johnny did a great .job not only as Sports Editor but also with his participation in sports activities. Thanks, Wong. Another gentleman to whom I would like to express my sincere appreciation is Mr. Keck of the Observer Printing House. When it looked as if I couldn’t get anyone to print the paper at the beginning of the year, Mr. Keck came to my rescue. The Observer Printing House has also done a fine job in printing the paper for the .school this year. And last but not least I would like to thank the other two members on the paper staff. Gwen Daly and Johnsie Greene have given much of their skill to the paper. Well, these are the people who have played the main role in the publication of the paper this year. We all hope that you have enjoyed the Collegian and that it has added a little something to your time at Charlotte College. THANKS TO BUSIEST MAN AROUND C.C. F^very student at Charlotte College is deeply indebted to Bill Reid for the great job he has done as president of the Student Council. Bill w'orks and goes to school too. He also boasts of a fine wife and baby. Together with these things he has been about the busiest man around the school this year. Bill has always found time and ways to do the impossible things. He has literally kept the Student Council from going down the drain. He has pushed and shoved and finally gotten the job done. I don’t know how much Bill has done. I would like to thank Bill for the whole student body. A big job has been made a success through his efforts. BACK THE OWLS We want to write one more little note concerning sports here at C.C. and particularly about basketball. The basketball team here at C. WISDOM AT WORK A good husband is one who stands by his wife in troubles she wouldn’t have had if she hadn’t married him. A recipe for happiness: Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes.
