MAY, 1963 THE OHABLOTTE QOLLBaiAN PAGE THREE Council Chairmen For Year Named A new Student Council — this is the most Impbrtant recent event in the Student Government Association. Much interest has been shown in the new student administra tion, both during and after the elections. Some interested stu dents have already been ap proved by the new Council as ■hejfds of standing committees. For the 1963-64 school year, the chairman of the Finance Committee will be Sandra Hod ges: Elections Committee Chair man, Ronald Rogers: Social Com mittee Chairman, Martin Richek: Special Activities Committee, George Simpson; In charge ofthe Handbooks Committee will be Susan Weber. The newly-elected Council has now been sworn into office, since the old Council “wound up” its business on Monday night, April 22. One of the most important of its Jast act was its lengthy discussion and approval (with minor changes) of the proposed Campus Regulations which a spe cial committee had been working on for some time. Since they were approved by the Student Council, the regulations will be placed before the students in a referendum vote early in the fall term of 1963. Council Submits Financial Report On April 30, Robert E. Alexander submitted his report of the income and expenditures of the Student Council for 1962-63. Income for the year exceeded $16,500, and expenditures of approximately $8,500 left a balance in excess of $8,000. Other expenditures and apprc^riations during the month of May totaled approximately $6,500, leavtag a final balance of about $1 500. According to Mr. Alexander^ the additional money was disbursed for the Social Committee, thedanceofMay 11, the news paper, the Drama Association, and other activities. The report of April 30 is published below for information to the student body. Appended to it is a supplementary report on the Year Book.
