Milwaukee, Wis . Nov. 28. About lp;30 o'clock this morning Peter Met Geocb, who lived opposite the National Soldiers Home -in an eie- gant mansioD, ordered his carriage to go to fhe city, and then went up stairs. He was not seen alive after that. As he did notjappear, the ser vants became-alarmed and instituted a search for him; Miss Annie Beese, who, has been a servant in the house for about a year, looked through the keyhole of the bath-room door, which was locked, arid saw Mc Geoch lying on the floor with a res volver in his hand. He had shot himself through the mouth and death was presumably instantane ous. The, servants immediately notified Major W W Rowley, quar terniaster of the Soldiers' Homo, an intimate acquintance of Mr. Mc Geoofc, who immediately sent for Mr, MoGeoch's son. Arthur, who re sides in the city. When found Mr. McGeoch had on his business suit and was apparently ready lio 'start for the city. The servants noticed nothing peculiar about hip actions before the time.. Mr. McGeoch 's suicido is taken to be the result ol divorce proceedings begun last Monday by Mrs. Mc Gepch on the ground of incompati bility of temperament. Mrs. McGeoch was Mrs. Libbey, of Kenwood, a suburb of Chicago, when sho met Mr, McGeoch. They were married about eight years ago at the Leland Hotel. Chicago. Since their marriage they have lived at the National avenue homestead of Mr. McGeoch, Mr. McGeoch, had three children, a son and two daughters, Iwho after his marriage occupied a house on Grand avenue which their father provided. Since Mrs, McGeoch left the residence one of the daughters, it is understood, has been keeping house for her father. No man was fQr years better known on the Chicago and Milwau kee boards of trade than Mr. Mcw Geoch. He was a daring speculator up to the disastrous Jard deal of 1883, when he attempted to Gorner the lard of the conntry, which scheme failed. Daniel Well?, Jr., oi ineaeaj, ana a long anti acrr monious law suit followed.
