Evilsof the Coffee Oabit.J t-
There is an outcry in America
and on the European Continent
against coffee drunkenness, jwhich
is said to be one of the latest dan

made a special study of the subject,

of Bsrlin, has published a clincical
study which is the most thorough
yet made, as he had a community
of coffee drinkers under his constant
observation the workingwoman in
and about Essen. He found
of these ,women consume

over a
pound of coffee a week. The lead
ing sy mptoms of thp ills that afflict
ed them were profound depression
of spirits and frequent headaches,
with insomnia. A strong dose of
coffee would relieve them for a time,
when the ailment would return.
The muscles became weak and
trembling, and the hands trembled
when at rest. The victims suffered
so seriously that they dared not
abandon the drinking of coffee for
fear of death." Exchange.
