Cattle Going to Virginia,
On Saturday- last an unusual
sight passed along the streets of
our town in the shape of a herd
of cattle; numbering 106 head,
which were being taken from
Montgomery, Stanly, Union and
Cabarrus counties to the valley
of Virginia, where they will be
fattened and sent back to the
city markets next spring and
summer. The man in charge
was in a buggy that was drawn

The Raleigh Press-Visitor tells
a story not so good on Dr.
Schlosinger, the spiritualist that
is infesting the capital V city.
One Mr. Dughi, a citizen, .con
cluded to take , a trial dose fro m
the cloctor. " The latter made him
the f.iir proposition to refund the
fee ($1. 50) if services were not
satisfactory; The bargain was
made and money paid. Mr,
Dughi was asked to write six
names; Among them ho wrote
that of bis own child, Christian
Tho sago scientist told him :
"You wroto the name of a
child of yours Christine; The
child is very dear to you. It will
bo a great child and will cause
you great joy. But she is sickly
now. However you' can cure
tho child if you will give her
sago tea. Begin giving the
child sage tea immediately.' -
Th e disgust of ;;Mr : Dughi' be
gan at once for the child is a
bouncing boy, plump and hearty,
in no more need of sage tea than
ho needed anything, the Jseer had.
On thinking over the matter
Mr. Dughi concluded he had got
nothing for his $1.50. He re
quested the doctor to place the
fund with some charitable cause.
The doctor ignored written re
quests and the doughty Mr.
Dughi called on him personally
and in o very short time was
slapping the doctor right
and left with his open
hand regardless of ;ali
the spirits that be. Help ' come
from those whose spirits are yet
in the flesh. - Mr. . Dughi was
taken in hand by the "Cops." ;S
