The olerk of the Hoard of Obmmis sioners requests us to say that the Hoard will meet here on the 2ud Monday in August next, to revise tbo lax list, hear complaints, &o. Many of tbe Gne bogs, of which we ■poke some time since as running at large in this oounty, have since died, and farmers now report a considerable number sick in some neighborhoods. We saw a nice watermelon the other daj but do not tender thanks to auybody for it, we were not even asked to see it out, much less to help eat it. All right we'll have aome nice eowcumbers 'fore long, see if we sxe that fellow to have on*. Was ever a country blessed with such delightful raise as those we have had daring the last two weeke, just enough to wet the grtund, with no thunder or heavy winds. The work will now be pushed rapidly forward in tbe direction ot Walnut Cove, and it is believed that by the time tho laying of the iron from the Gull to Greensboro is completed that tbe road bed from the latter plaoe to Walnut Cove or a poiut near German too in this county wili be ready tor tbe iron. It ii a remarkable fact, that in a scope of country uearly 20 u.iles square, and containing from G to 10,000 inhabitants with Daubury near its center, we believe there is but one regular practicing phy sician. True there is not much sickness ordinarily in this seotion, but then it must be a regular harvest for one wan, but the young M D. like city lift, and had rather live io a city and pay S4O per month for living, and make S2O, than to induro the hardships of oountry life and pay 810 per month for living, and make S4O.
