Smith and Miss Ada Martin, two popu lar young people, was celebrated at the home of Mr. R. R. Smith, Dec. 3. Esq. Emmet Smith offici ated. The groom is a prominent young farmer of this place. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Wm. Martin, the celebrated fruit grow- j er, of Brown Mountain. Mr. Joe Cox seems very jovial j nowadays. I saw him pass through here the other day. He had a red headed wood, one rabbit and two rabbit hides. Gue9s he was going to Johnstown. He was whistling Ragtime Medley. Rev. Glidewell will fill his regular appointment at Brown Mountain. R. P. N. Great Excitement. y A large number of the citizens OT the county who are interested in the big voting contest, will be here during Christmas week to vote and work for their favorites. ( The contest is attracting a great deal of attention outside of the county, and many people at Win- ' ston, Greensboro, High Point, Mayodan, Reidsville, Mount Airy, and dozens of places all over the United States where the Reporter circulates, are discussing the affair with interest and specula ting on who will win. In some sections of the county the excite ment is equal to that of a presi dental election. NOTICE TO SUBSCRIBERS.
