Kipg Route 2, March 29. Mr. Editor ■ I think a good plan to work the public roads would be to levy a special tax on real estate to pay the hands for every day they work; let the overseer conlrol same as he does now and give them so much a day. Say one dollar and board theirselves and furnish their own tools. Pay the overseer the same for nil of his time warning in his bands and time on the road. Let each township keep their own money. Let the board of super visors keep and pay out when orders are sent in by overseers. Have good sensible men that have got good judgment on working the road and work where it is needed worst. Let that be left to the board of supervisors; pay them for their extra time. Then. Ii think we will have better roads. It is not right for a man that has got no team and probably never will have, to work on the public road for nothing and some men that have several teams that have got too old to work. Those men should help pay to keep up the roads. It would be to their interest to have good roads, Let the coun ty authorities give us a plan to have better roads and on the cheapest plan. Old Stokes, come to the front with good roads at least. S. R. FULP. MONEY TO LOAN—Bank of SHfes-Quutity. ...THE...
