Ray has announced that he will accept the nomination for Sheriff on the Democratic i ticket if tendered him by tbe next convention. Mr. Ray is quite pop i ular with the people, and would doubtless get a handsome vote. The deposition of Mr. T. R. Worthaiu, in the civil suit of E L. Martin v. T. B. Knight, admr. of W. L. Fallin, was taken here Saturday. Messrs. Martin and Knight, both of Madison, spent Friday night here, returning home Saturday. Mr. Will Dunlap, cf Gideon, while returning from Madison last ' Thursday, had the misfortune to get his leg broken. He was sit ting on a wagon and hia leg was accidentally caught between the bottom of the wsgon and a stump in the road. Mr. J. E. Sisk, a prominent cit izen of Snow Creek township, was in town Tuesday. Mr. Sisk told the Rej orter that Mr. Jas.
