The Twenty-fourth Annual
Convention of the North Carolina
Sunday School Association meets
in the town of Reidsville, Tues
day, Wednesday and Thursday,
April 2, 3 and 4th.
Mr. D. W. Busick has been close
to death's door; and while he ia
not yet out of danger his friends
and loved ones are more hopeful.
Hedeveloped pneumonia last week
and owing to his weak condition
it was feared that the disease would
prove fatal. But he bad the best
medical attention, Dr. A. 6. Jones,
of Walnut Cove, and Dr. R. C.
Matbeson, of Madison. Besides
Miss Jennie Bledsce, a trained
nurse of Baltimore, has been at
his bedside.
Miss Minnie Crews, who has
been teaching school at Westfield,
returned to her home Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Mitchell
made the Herald a call Monday,
having come to Madison to bring
Mrs. Mitchell's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. J. P. Covington, of Pilot
Mt.
'/Mr. Zack L. Wall caught a
leather carp which weighed 18
pounds. The few scales on it were
as large as silver dollars. It is
said to be the largest fish ever
caught with a hook in this section
The last legislature appointed
Messrs. Geo. W. Martin, of Mad
ison, Robt. H. Ivie, of Leaksville,
and Walter J. Williams, of New
Bethel, as the Rockingham Board
of Education for the next two
years.
