Baker, of Meadows Route 1, was in town Tuesday. Ex-Sheriff R. J. Petree, of Ciermanton, spent Monday night in town. Mr. John (_T. Fulton, of Walnut Cove, was here a short while yes terday. Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Sizemore were in town Monday from Ger umnton Route 1. Mr. E. C. Sheppard, of Danbury Route 1, was a visitor at the Re porter office today. Mr. R. W. Hill, of Mendows. Pepper attended the Haw Pond school en tertainment Saturday. Rev, D. A. Binkley,of Dan bury, and Mr. D. W. Hall, of Spray, are conducting a series of meetings at Vade Mecum this week. Mrs. Bettie J. Martin, of Gid eon, and Miss Dora DeShnzo. of Spencer, Va., arrived here this af ternoon to visit Mrs. N. A. Mar tin. Mr. Ray John sot), of Winston- Salem, visited relatives on Ger nianton Route 1 Saturday aud Sunday, returning to Winston- Salem Monday. Miss Sadie Petree. who has been teaching nsar Germanton the past winter, will return home today. She will probably be ac companied by Miss Maggie Petree, of Germanton. Mrs. J. Spot Taylor went to Winston Monday and from there to Greensboro where she attended a banquet at the Guilford Hotel, given by the alumni of Guilford College, of which school Mrs. Taylor is a graduate. Mr. John M. Taylor is in favor of macadam roads in Stokes couu ty, anil says be will pay his part of the tax with pleasure. Mr. Taylor owns several thousand acres of fine lands in Stokes Coun ty, too. Do you believe John Taylor doesn't know his business? ' Mr. Walter V. Bennett, of Dan bury Route 1. was a visitor here yesterday. Mr Bennett is one of our best tobacco growers and owns a fine tobacco farm for which he has been offered twenty dollars an acre. He is very much in fovor of macadam roads. We need more such men at; Mr. Bennett. Mr. D. H. Tillotson, a former citizen of Stokes, now residing in Winston, called on the Reporter today Mr. Tillotson formerly lived at Pine Hall and still owns a home there.
