Spot Taylor, accompa nied by his son, John, attended the Stokes fair at King andj Ringling's circus at Winston i the past week. Messrs. R. H. R. Blair and W. R. Stewart will return to Mr. D. C. Nelson's mill this week to finish installing a new wheel to Mr. Nelson's mill. The work on the addition and improvement to the Bank of Stokes County here has been completed, and the build-1 ing was reoccupied Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Blair, of Sandy Ridge, came up Monday. They expect to leave today for Winston, where Mr. Blair has accepted a position as salesman . in a clothing store. Mr. J. Wm. Morefield, of Meadows, was here recently. Mr. Morefield who recently bought out the mercantile business of Mr. G. W. Neal, at Meadows, expects to begin selling goods the first of the new year. Smith recently. Miss Myrtle Smith, of Mayo dan, who has been spending several weeks here attending school, returned to her home last week. Mr. John T. Carroll, accom panied by his daughter, Miss Rosa, spent Friday here. Miss Rosa was examined to teach in the public schools. Rev. J. W. Goodman, of Greensboro, will preach at the Presbyterian church here next Sunday morning at 11 o'clock and probably at night also. Misses Mary Lambeth and Mabel Crutchfield, of Guilford College, arrived here Friday and opened the public school Mon day.
