over the critical illness of Hon.
Ashely Home at Greensboro.
He was here Monday forenoon
preparing ft r his trip to the
Confederate reunion to which he
was bound when the paralytic
stroke came on. As chairman
of the building commission for
the erection of the new state
administration building he had
special matters to attend to yes
terday before he started on his
Macon trip. He complained
somewhat to friends but insisted
that he was well able to under
take the journey to Macon.

died Saturday at the age of 7f>
years and was buried at I'almyra
church Monday. The deceased
leaves a wife and several sons
and daughters to mourn his
