LOCAL NEW S. ga Mr. N. 0. Petree spent Friday King. Mr. Riley Turner, of Meadows, was in town today. Mr. J. M. Neal, of Meadows, was in town today. Mr. Cicero Voss, of Walnut Cove, is ill with pneumonia. Mr. W. Y. Gordon was here today from Garmanton Route 1. Mr. J. W. Hall spent yester day and today at Winston-Salem on business. A great deal of tobacco has 'passed through Dan bury this week enroute to market. Architect Joel R. Hill, of Wins ton-Salem, was a visitor here Monday. Messrs. John R. Hill and Jas. Corn, of Campbell, were here Saturday. Mr. W. R. Stovall, of Camp bell, was among the visitors in town Saturday. Mr. Eli Nelson, of Danbury Route 1, was in town a short while yesterday on businsss. Mr. Paul T. Taylor was here today enroute to northern Stokes in the interest of the new ware- j house at Walnut Cove. Mrs. R. H. R. He was accompanied by his nephew, Mr. Eddie Sheppard, of Montana, who is visiting rela tives in Stokes. Messrs. Joseph Dunlap • and James Shelton, ciuzens of Dan bury township, will remove soon to the farm of Mr. John G. Morefield, located near Pine H ill. Mr. Sam P. It was on January 6 that a party of eight men arrived from Bethania and felled the first tree in making the clearing for the erection of the first house in the town. Killed Wild Turkey ! On The Dan River Winston!, Jan. 12.—Mr. L. I H. Corvrad of this city while out hunting with a party on the Dan river on Tuesday, killed a wild turkey.
