PAGE FOUR WILSON BEATS ALL TOBACCO MARKETS Sold Eighty Million Pounds Before Closing For Christ mas—Average $13.92. Wilson, Dec. 20.—Sales on the local tobacco market pass ed the 80,000,000-pound mark prior to the markets closing for, the Christmas holidays, j official sales figures announced today revealed. The report of Bennet Hooks, supervisor of sales, showed that 80,453,966 pounds of weed had been sold off the floors of the nine warehouses prior to the suspension of sales yester day. Purchasers paid grow-' ers of the lead $11,197,309.19, | for an average of $13.92 per 100 pounds. Sales the closing day totaled 643,660 pounds, for which $75,-' 041.18 was paid. j Mrs. S.
