July 27. —The Womans' Clufc of King met at the horn® of Mr. and Mrs. 8. H. Brown Thursday evening. July 14, at eight o'clock Mrs. Brown and Miss Lucy Leary being Joint hostesses. The living room was beautifully decorated wltli pots at aweet peas and June flowers. The .president, Mrs. G. E. Stone, was in charge of the meeting. Aftet the business session a program wu rendered paying tribute to our flag Readings of much Interest were given by different members of the club. During social hour an inter, esting historical contest was given. Beveral were winners. In conclusion a delicious ice course was served by (he hostesses, Mrs. Brown and Mia' Leary. King, July 27.—Tuesday evening last Dr. and Mrs. E. M. Griffith anj family motored to Crystal Lake anJ ate a delicious picnic supper by the lakeside. They had as their guests Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Moore, of Wins. ton-Salem. The tempting eats con. si.r.ed of various delicacies that would appease the appetite of an epicurean and was greatly enjoyed. There were many bathers in the swimming pool at the same time, both men and women, some we-.? t teaching little children to swim, others were doing stunts by plunar. ing into the water at various heights, somie as high as 20 feet. >The night was warm and the water was most pleasant and cooling. FULTON IS HOSTESS TO THE WOMAN'S' AUXILIARY. Walnut Cove. July 28.—The Wu. mans' Missionary Society of the Method'st church held the regular monthly meeting with Mrs. H. H. Davis at her home here on Thursday afternoon with the president, Mrs. A. G. Jones, presiding. The theme for this meeting wad. "Finding Gol In Daily Life." "Still, Still With Thee" was the opening hymn sung. The worship service waa led by Mrs. A. G. Jones, assisted by Mr 3. Tom Welch and Mrs. C. J. Lamb. Mrs. J. W. Hutch, erson read a leaflet on "China Travels Forward." The Mission Study was conducted by Mrs. M. O. Jones. A short business session was held after which a social half hour was enjoyed and refreshments served.
