An Editorial COME, DRINK YE OF THE WATER OF LIFE Today in every tobacco county of North Caro lina, South Carolina and Virginia the campaign to reduce tobacco acreage is going ahead, while enthusiastic, thousands are rushing up to sign the contracts. This is the only known remedy which will raise the price of the leaf. All other so-called reliefs are delusions and a snare while giant overpro duction depresses the markets and discourages competition of the buyers. No agreement between manufacturers of cig arettes to depress the price of flue-cured tobacco can ever be a success when the commodity be comes dear on the markets. The law of supply and demand will take care of values, when values are made precious. Now let the farmers of Stokes county who | have suffered from low prices, join in the great movement which is sweeping the flue-cured zgnes like fire before a strong wind. There can be no risk to a tobacco grower when the credit, the resources and the good faith of the government stand back of the measures for his relief. Let our tobacco growers march up 100 per cent strong and drink of these waters of life, or for ever hereafter hold their peace. Now is the day of salvation. ORGANIZING FOR THE N. R. A.
