A Chicken Stew
Turned Into A
Squirrel Stew-
Mr. Lo.i Sisk is. authority for
the details of a very remarkable
feast which was held recently. It.
was originally intended for a;
chicken stew, and a big pot had
been arranged in which chickens,
vegetables, etc., were stewing. A s
the affair was being held under
a grove of large trees, which
were infested with squirrels, it
was soon noticed that the little
animals while playing among the
limbs above, frequently lost
their footing and fell, and no
less than 32 of them landed in
the pot and were stewed. So that
the participants were so well
pleased that they called it i
"squirrel stew" instead of a
chicken stew.
Mr. Sisk declares the bar
becue was the best-tasting he
ever helped eat.
