THE DAN BURY REPORTER. N. E. PEPPER, Editor and Publisher Issued Wednesdays at Danbury, N. C., and entered at the Dan bury poatoflice as second class matter, under act of Congress. DANBURY, N. C.. SEPTEMBER 23, 1927" Tobacco and Corn Harvest Edition. Tliis issue of Lhe Reporter is devoted largely to the celebration of the/golden harvest of tobac co and corn grown by the farmers of Stokes, in this good year of 1937. Possibly not since 1913 has a better crop of lobacco been cured, and now the happy advent of the opening of the markets for the sale of this king of our crops is a source of pleasure and ;mtieipation to the farmers and their friends everywhere. The farmers deserve gbod prices for their product, and the chances are they will get them. The corn crop is also fine and large, the best for years, and this coupled with the tobacco crop, insures prosperity to our county in the immediate future. The Reporter takes much pride and satisfact ion in printing the messages of the tobacco markets, the warehouses and the business men to the farmers of Stokes, and feels assured these dependable business concerns are going to be patronized liberally by our readers and patrons, 90 per cent, of whom are farmers. The markets open on Thursday the 23rd, but clays before the first sales are called you will see the stream of trucks and automobiles begin flowinff, to bring back their cargoes of cash and commodities.
