Tli.-y Tll Why It Was that the V. M. C. A. Ui.Ml at llillshoro. To Tin; Kihtok: Seeing an article in your paper this week, charging that the V. M. C..A. of IlilUboro was killed by a minister of one of our churches and a deacon of another, we beg leave, in be half of justice, to give our version. We think the prime cause of its death was because some of the active members wished to get out and did not have the 1 moral pluck to resign. Others became offended at one of the associate members being paid s." for the use of the associa tion to lecture at one of the meetings. Some because one of the active members had read a chapter in the new version and called attention to the difference be tween that and the old. There was not a minister present at either one of the last meetings. The whole plan was nastily gotten up and pushed through with the aid of some who h -id not been in the hall in ,3 1.1 "oc d months, all of which was contrar constitution and by laws. There not one-third of the members standing who voted to disband. So you see that our opinion is that the association was killed by a few christians w ho could not obey the injunction, "Fret not thyself becau-c of the ungodly." Respectfully, ( I). Tl'KXKK.
