Our time and space is lim ited this week, but we must say be fore closing that the annual address by Rev. W. P.-McCorkle of Sholby was all that could have been asked. Found in an Auger Hole. Mr W. D. Lackey of Fallston in Cleveland county, was moving or tearing away an old house on his place last week when he found out more of his ancestry than he had previously known. A log of the old building was split up and an auger hole with a pin driven in it wa3 laid bare. Under this pin was the flyleaf of an old book upon which was written : Jas. Lackcv, his book, was born in the year of our Lord, 1727, May llth." The flyleaf had been placed iu the anger hole with great care and on the top of it was found a piece of glas3 and on top of the glass was found a little bunch of hair resembling hog hair. The old gentleman that did this was the great great grandfather of W. D. Lackey. The Best Medicine. J. O. Wilson, Contractor and Builder, Sulphur Springs, Texas, thus speak3 of Ayer's Pills : " Aver's Pills are the best medicine I ever tried; and, in my judgment, no better general remedy could be devised. I have used them in my family and recommended them to my friends and employes for more than twenty years. To my certain knowledge, many cases of the following complaints have been completely and Permanently Cured by the use of Ayer's Pills alone: Third day chills, dumb ague, bilious fever, sick headache, rheumatism, flux, dys pepsia, constipation, and hard colds. I know that a moderate use of Ayer'a Pills, continued for a few days or weeks, as the nature of the complaint required, would be found an absolute cure for the disorders I have named above." "I have been selling medicine for eight years, and I can safely say that Ayer's Pills give better satisfaction than any other Pill I ever sold." J. J. Perry, Spottsylvania C. II., Va.
