MODERN PUNT OF STAR
LAUNDRY
Machinery Now in Fine
Operation«WiII Open For
Business JNext Monday.
^^t6P*iD8ny months of preparation,
the Star Laundry Company ot>ena to the
general public for business Monday
morning at their new and modem plant
on the corner of Patton and Linn streets.
The laundry building and equipment,
which is new from roof to cellar, is
declared by experts to be one of the
finest plants of its kind in the South
and cannot be equally in many cities
several times the size of Danville,
The Star Laundry is a credit to the
city of Danville, and reflects the in
dustry and progressive spirit of the
owners of the plant.
The old Star Laundy building, it
will be recalled, was destroyed by fire
last fall. The remaning walls were
tom down and on the same site has
been erected a handsome two story
brick building with a frontage of about
fifty feet and running back a hundred
feet. The annex, which has also been
recently con^ructed in the rear, will
be used for storage purposes.
In equipping the new laundry building
practically none of the old machirery
was used. The best experts and the
largest manufacturers in the country
were consulted, in order to secure the
latest models. The new equipment,
large part of which is very recent
inventions, is desij^ned for producing
the highest grade of work on material
laundered with the minimum wear.
Each department is under the personal
supervision of an expert in his line and
the machines are constructed and
operated to meet local conditions.
For the past week oi ten days sev
eral experts from distant cities have
been at the laundry testing the dif
ferent machines and they did not leave ;
until after they thoroughly demon
strated that all of the apparatus was in
good working order.
The Star Laundry was the pioneer
in low prices for laundry work, and no
increase will be made over the old rates.
The young men of the city will be
glad to know that the gentleman’s
entire wash list will be restored. The
work will also be kept in thorough
repair by an experienced seamstress.

When Baxter Shemwell was senten

had kept the peace and properly con

that he had quit carrying pistols. All
of which is commendable if he will
only keep it up.

thus told by him. “For more than
three years," he writes, “I suffered
ndescribable torture from rheumatism,
liver and stomach trouble and diseased
kidneys. All[remedies failed till I
used Electric Bitters, but four bottles
of this wonderful remedy cured me
completely." Such results are common.
Thousands bless them for curing
stomach trouble, female complaints,
kidney disorders, biliousness, and for
new health and vigor. Try them. Only

A Frenchman says his thoughts drive
him mad. The difference between him
and some other people is, that he
keeps his thoughts untterance and him*
self goes mad; while they give their
thoughts utterance and so drive other
people mad. Pity 'tis that the former
course is not more generally pursued.
