Alfred Sykes of hed at the home of C.ark Sunday. have Woodiawn School The Woodiawn school from near Mebane sent a splendid de legation to the county school com mencement which was held at Graham Saturday. The deliga tion passed through Mebane in a nice covered van drawn by six horses. Much credit is due Col. Erastus Cook for the creditable show this delegation made. Birthday Dinner. Mrs. Ed. Holt graciously en tertained at a birthday diifiner last Sunday, at’her lovely country home in South Mebane. The pleasant and home like air of the occasion made it unusually delight ful. Mr. George E. Holt of Winston-Salem, her eldest son, came home especiilly to be with his mother and enjoy the cele bration. Guests, not including the family were Misses Lassie Watkins and Sue Mebane.
