MARION PROGRESS, MARION, N. C., THURSDAY, MAR. 28, 1940 WOMAN’S REALM and SOCIETY NEWS JEANNE NANNEY BECOMES bride of guy RABB Miss Jeanne Nanney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Nanney of Mar ion, became the bride of Guy Rabb, son of Mr. and Mrs. J, C. Rabb of Pleasant Gardens, Saturday night in a ceremony performed at the First Methodist church here. The Rev. J. C. Cornett officiated. White gladibli, snap dragons and ferns were used to decorate the altar which was flanked on either side by branched candelabra with lighted tapers. A program of wedding music was furnished by Nelson Parker, or ganist. The selections included “To a Wild Rose,” by MacDowell, and MISS M’INTOSH ENTERTAINS CLUB AND GUESTS Miss Caroljm McIntosh was hos tess to her bridge club and several additional guests at a lovely party last Saturday afternoon at her home in Old Fort. A profusion of jonquils decorated the home where three ta bles were set up for coj^tract bridge. After a number of interesting progressions, Mrs. J. E. Neal, Jr., was given the high score prize and Miss Eunice Wilkinson the consola tion. Guest prizes were given to Miss Nora Kirkland of Durham, houseguest of the hostess, and Mrs. Robert Hilt and Miss Edith Hilt of Philadelphia, houseguests of Mrs. D. M. McIntosh, Jr. A delicious salad “Sweetest Story Ever Told,” by j and sweet course was served. Ushers were Sam Nanney, brother of the bride, Clarence Rabb and Roy Rabb, brothers of the bridegroom, and R. L. James, Jr. After the’ ceremony the couple ;ieft for a wedding trip to Kentucky. On their return, they will make their home in Marion. Mrs. Rabb is a daughter of Mr. and Mi*s. Horace F. Nanney of Mar ion. She was graduated from Marion high school and attended Lees-Mc- Eae College at Banner Elk. Mrs. -Guy Rabb, whose marriage occurred in the First Methodist church here Saturday evening, is the former Miss Jeanne Nanney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Nanney of Marion.
